The IEEE APS Colombia Chapter invites students and early-career professionals interested in antennas, propagation, electromagnetics, and communications to participate in a hybrid seminar organized by the chapter with the support of the IEEE APS Student Chapter at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. During this one-hour session, the Applied Electromagnetics Laboratory will present two research projects focused on millimeter-wave propagation and the design of a GRIN lens for beam steering applications. These topics will provide participants with an introduction to current research areas related to advanced wireless communications, electromagnetic modeling, and antenna systems. The seminar will also include a brief presentation of the IEEE APS Colombia Chapter, its academic initiatives, and the free activities available for IEEE members and students interested in joining the antennas and propagation community. The event will be held in a hybrid format, with in-person participation at Sala FIUN and an online connection option for remote attendees through this link: meet.google.com/swm-ffmq-efq . Agenda: 10:00 – 10:20 a.m. Millimeter-Wave Propagation Presentation of the first project by the Applied Electromagnetics Laboratory. 10:20 – 10:40 a.m. GRIN Lens Design for Beam Steering Presentation of the second project by the Applied Electromagnetics Laboratory. 10:40 – 11:20 a.m. IEEE APS Colombia Chapter Presentation Introduction to the chapter, its initiatives, and the free activities available for IEEE members and students. 11:20 a.m. Official Launch of the Fox Hunt Activity Presentation of the upcoming IEEE APS Colombia Chapter Fox Hunt activity.
