The IEEE AESS Colombia Chapter and the Faculty of Engineering of the Francisco José de Caldas District University invite the academic community and technology developers to actively participate in the Aerospace Technical Conference on Satellite Systems, through the presentation of a technical poster, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in the Sabio Caldas Auditorium of the District University. Special invitations are extended to research groups and student research groups, IEEE student branches, AESS student chapters, and other societies. Researchers and professionals in the aerospace and satellite systems sector from Colombia and Latin America are also welcome. 💬Objective: To highlight studies and experiences in the use of satellite technology, especially those addressing key socio-environmental and technological challenges in Colombia, accompanied by an oral presentation. Each selected proposal will have the opportunity to: Present a Poster and a Ten (10) minute Oral Presentation plus Five (5) minutes for questions from the audience. 👉Topics of Technical, Social and Environmental Interest: Climate and Environment Monitoring: Studies and applications for predicting extreme weather events, monitoring ecosystems, deforestation, or air/water quality. Precision Agriculture and Food Security: Use of satellite data for optimized crop management, water resource modeling and food security strategies. Other Topics of Interest (Technology and Systems): Proposals in cutting-edge areas are also encouraged. • Talk: Perimeter Protection in the Agentic era

    Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/540185

Talk presented by Dr Carlos Salazar, Senior Edge Specialist Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services. Abstract: As organizations navigate the agentic era, where autonomous AI agents increasingly interact with web services and APIs on behalf of users, web perimeter protection faces unprecedented challenges that demand a fundamental rethinking of traditional security paradigms. The proliferation of AI agents—from customer service bots to automated data scrapers and intelligent assistants—has blurred the lines between legitimate automated traffic and malicious bot activity, creating a complex landscape where conventional detection methods based on static signatures and simple behavioral patterns prove inadequate. This presentation explores how the agentic era transforms web perimeter security, examining the unique challenges posed by sophisticated AI agents that can dynamically adapt their behavior, leverage residential IP addresses to evade detection, and mimic human interaction patterns with remarkable fidelity, while also presenting emerging patterns and architectural approaches that organizations are adopting to address these evolving threats, including advanced fingerprinting methods, behavioral analysis frameworks, and risk-based classification models that move beyond binary human-versus-bot distinctions toward nuanced understanding of agent intent, legitimacy, and risk profiles in modern web ecosystems.
